Every Friday Shareen at Waiting for Him hosts Sew Crafty Friday. I finally finished my cross stitch projects I've been working on.
Okay, these two are too late for this Christmas.

This is part of a set of cross stitch pieces of the four seasons. This one took me so long though that I think I'm going to just stick with Spring!

A close up of the birds

And the flowers.

My eyes are starting to get so bad that it's very difficult to do such intricate detail. I may have to can the cross stitch even though I love it.

What beautiful crafts! You're not late for Christmas, you're very early. :)

I hate to be a wet blanket, Terri dear, but I think the cure for this is bifocals. That's what happens when you get to be about our age. ;)

Oh, my gosh, those are beautiful! I know what you mean about your eyesight...I hardly ever do counted cross stitch these days for just that reason!
Jenni, I'll have to let Laura know that I'm ready for next year - LOL!
Also, I have progressive lenses and I've had them for a year but I can't seem to get used to them. My eyes always feel like their swimming. I'm going to the eye doctor this month so hopefully I can get it corrected.

Those are so nice! I love the touches of metallic gold on the Christmas ones. And the Spring one is lovely. I've done two sets of 4 seasons in the past and I know just what you mean. The first patterns I chose were so difficult I wanted to give up after the first one!
Sure hope you can get some help at the eye doctor. If it was just that you needed help seeing, then I'd suggest magnifiers or using a larger count aida cloth. But swimming eyes? That sounds like something a little more difficult to deal with. Hope you can get help... it would be a shame to give up something you enjoy so much and do so well.
I too think your pieces are beautiful and it would be a shame to give up what you like doing so much. I personally think that your eye doctor should be able to help you. I now wear trifocals and I do a lot of reading and such and I'm not having any trouble and have not had trouble adjusting. Doctors do make mistakes. I have a friend who just had her prescription filled for glasses and they made a big mistake. So check it out and don't give up what you enjoy most!!
Great job! I love cross-stitching. I understand about the eye strain.
Such pretty projects. I, too, can relate to the eyesight thing. It is so frustrating, but along with my reading glasses I use one of those 'hang aroung your neck' magnifiers. Hate to give up on something you love to do. Great job on your projects.
