Wednesday Words of Encouragement

Luke 1:37 ~ "For nothing is impossible with God."

Isn't this an awesome verse? As finite humans we see the impossibilities in things. We feel despair. We think there is no way around an obstacle. We give up so easily!

Yet Luke reminds us that with God all things are possible. He is the Lord of the Universe. He has our lives in our hands. He has it under control. He is capable of doing anything!

Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves of this. I remember feeling despair over my son's life. What will happen to a child who can only read at a 5th grade reading level? Who writes at about a 1st grade level? Who has math skills that are at the very basic level? How is he going to survive in this world? Where will he work? What will become of his life?

I felt sick inside. Yet, the God of possibilities has done more than I ever could have dreamed of happening. Nathan is on the fire department. He wants to become an Emergency Medical Technician and has been studying for the tests and doing fairly well even with his reading difficulties! He has a hope and a future and yet, just a few short years ago I would have thought it impossible. I mean this was a child who 3 years ago wouldn't leave our side at all! God is GOOD!

If you are feeling overwhelmed and discouraged by your circumstances, remember this verse. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING is impossible with our God!

Be encouraged today!

  6. God has a plan for Nathan's life and He will take care of all the details. Nathan has made tremendous progress and to meet him, one would find it hard to find that he is so lacking in some skills. He may not have all the skills to get a great job but God has lead other people in the same circumstances to make a great living in this world. Remember, it is God who is the enabler!

    Love Mom
