Gingerbread Ornaments

I've made these the past few years for different children programs and the kids love decorating them. It's a simple recipe and very easy to make.

Gingerbread Ornaments

4 Cups of Flour
1 cup salt
1/4 cup cinnamon
3 Tbsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp. ground cloves
1 1/2 cup warm water.

Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the water a bit at a time until the dough is clay consistency. I found that I needed a bit more water. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. MAKE SURE YOU POKE A HOLE IN THE TOP CENTER OF EACH ORNAMENT BEFORE YOU BAKE THEM! Ask me how I know. ;-)

Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. They will puff up a bit.

Cool on wire racks and decorate as desired.
