Taking in the Sights
Dan & I went for a walk yesterday and only made it about a mile when it started raining hard. It seems like the past 3 times we have gone, we have gotten rained on. However, there were a couple of interesting sights that I thought I'd share with you.
We saw cows. They aren't really exciting but since it's grey and dreary I had to take what I could get. :-)

Actually, our neighbor sold his farm and his 300 head of cattle. These 3 were the only ones he couldn't catch and he ended up leaving them there for the buyer.
We saw ducks.

There is a game preserve down the road from us and they have a fenced in duck pond. I think these little guys got loose. We usually have one or two hanging around by the house. There was a whole flock today!
The creek has been raging the past few days. You can hear it inside the house and I've warned the children to stay away from it.

The most exciting thing we saw was a bald eagle. There are a pair of them that have been hanging around for months. Usually I don't have the camera when I see them but today I was prepared. I'm so bummed that they weren't closer and this camera will only zoom in so far. This was the best I could get.
Sitting in the field in a puddle.

They are awesome to watch. They are so majestic looking when they are soaring up above.

Well, that was my afternoon walk. I absolutely cannot wait until spring when at least there will be some pretty, outdoor pictures.

I love these outdoor pictures!
ReplyDeleteI, too, love the pictures!!! I look forward to reading your blog cause I don't know what's going to happen next. It's like waking up on Christmas morn to presents under the tree. Keep them coming.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks Mom. Does this mean I don't have to buy you any Christmas gifts next year? :-)

Wow, you saw a bald eagle in person? How awesome is that?
ReplyDeleteMom2fur,
ReplyDeleteNot just one, but two!!! They are the neatest things to watch in flight. They've been hanging out down the road and I have seen them quite frequently lately. They are very majestic looking.

Of course, you have to buy your mother a Christmas present but reading your blog gives me a present every day of the year and it doesn't cost you anything! See, some things in life are free but that doesn't let you off the hook for Christmas. LOL!
