Raging Water

Photobucket

Normally our creek is a little stream that runs by the house. In the summer it provides hours of fun for the children. They play in the water and catch snakes, frogs, and all kind of water creepy-crawlies.

However, during the spring when the snow melts it becomes a raging torrent. It poured all day on Saturday and this is a small example of what happens when the snow melts up on the mountain.

You can hear it roaring inside the house even with the windows closed.

The kids are not allowed to play near it when it is rising because it looks much worse than it does in these pictures.

Today the sun was out and the water has receded back to it's normal stream. The children went out and had a blast playing in the sunshine!

Also, our bald eagle was back and soaring over the house.

It was a beautiful day today. Spring is on it's way. I saw the first robin yesterday. Whoo Hoo!!!

  1. Great Pictures of both stream and children! I love it that I can see pictures of them more often now that you blog. The buds are out on our trees down here. The saucer Magnolia is blooming beautiful tulip like flowers, The Forsythia has gorgious yellow flowers on it. Our flowering crab tree is getting buds and the Bradford Pear trees are in bloom with their perfect pear shape and white flowers. It was 32 degrees this morning but is already up to 57 degrees with warm sunshine. It probably will get to the mid sixties by 2 PM.

  2. Hey Terri! I love these pictures of the water. BEAUTIFUL!! I know it has a lot of danger also but wow! it really looks wonderful. I could just sit by that stream with a good book and read in the sunlight. I am mentally going there now, you wanna meet me for a good read?! LOL

  3. Terri,

Check out my new blog and maybe you can give me some hints as to why I have so much space between sentences. It took me all day to do what I did. I hope it gets better!

  5. Thank you ladies. I would love to sit by the stream and read, Michelle, but it was about 38 degrees yesterday - LOL!

Tina, it is a beautiful area. We are blessed to be here, especially after doing inner city work for 10 years.
