Why I Blog

Well, I had this up and messed something up, had to delete it and now I'm posting it again!

Okay, some "in real life - 3D" friends as well as some blogging friends, such as Tina have asked me why I blog. I thought I'd share my reasons here.

1. It allows Nathan to use his camera and learn some technology skills. I take a lot of the pictures but he also takes many.

2. It originally was a way to keep in touch with family members who we only see once or twice a year. However, I think the only family member who reads it is my mother because she is the only one who comments.

3. It allows me to keep up with news on our church and family with friends who keep us in prayer.

4. It gives me an outlet.

5. I can keep in touch with other women who are also stay at home moms and/or homeschoolers.

6. It gives me a chance to be creative with my photographs and poems.

7. I can share things that the Lord is showing me.

8. Lastly, it's fun!

There you have it; the many reasons I blog.

    I am glad you blog as well, Terri because I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing just how creative you are. You may be my daughter but I only have memories of who you were as a child. This allows me to learn who you are as an adult, reaching out to others and displaying your talents in so many ways that I wouldn't believed possible if you didn't blog. It's not that I didn't know you had talents, it's just that i didn't know how many talents you have in so many areas. I'm glad to be learning about my adult daughter who has become a great friend!!

Kelli hosts this each week and I always enjoy the opportunity to sit down and make some cards. A Mindful Year

This year has been strange to say the least, and has not gone exactly the way I expected. A good chunk of the first part of 2025 was spent helping with my in-laws before my mother-in-law passed away the day after Easter. And as we are entering into the last part of 2025 I think the word, mindful, is an accurate description of how the year as gone so far. In fact, I was browsing in a local book store and found this book entited, A Mindful Year. It is a journal of daily writing prompts and I just started it the other day.  I've worked at being intentional in many of the areas of my life and I think "mindful" is a good word to use.  I've been mindful in taking time to pray, read, and hear what God is saying to me.  I've been mindful in getting in many days of exercise each week, especially getting out and walking and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. When the Unexpected Pops Up

On Thursday afternoon, just as Dan and I were getting ready to leave for a meeting, we received a phone call from our son. He was sitting on the side of the road with a blown engine in his car. The problem is he lives 3 1/2 hours away. After back and forth phone calls he called a tow truck and got it towed to a garage. He ended up renting a car and headed here for the holiday. We've been working with him to figure out his next steps because he still owes thousands of dollars on the car which will also take a significant amount to replace the engine. His rent is going up in the new year. His seasonal job ended and he is trying to find something else, but needs a car for that to happen. His car still has not been looked at by the mechanic. It is all more than a little overwhelming. Long story short, we extended an invitation for him to live here temporarily so he can get out from under all of this.
