Sweater Weather
I woke up this morning and the humidity has dropped, and it actually seems fall-like. I wrapped a blanket around myself as I sat on the deck in the early morning hours and it felt wonderful. It's put in me in the mood to pull out my fall decorations, and turn my thoughts to pumpkins, apples, scented candles and delicious smelling spices. Autumn is my favorite season. I love what I call "sweater-weather."
I'm working on decluttering and purging the house of unnecessary items. I've been deep cleaning rooms and organizing. Next weekend we have a missionary staying with us and I would love to get Emily's room painted by then since that is where he will be sleeping, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Stephen has been sleeping in there and because it has been so hot and humid, I haven't wanted to kick him out and into the sunroom because there is no air conditioning out there.
However, since it's cooled off and going to stay cool for the next week, I'm going to have him move to the other room so I can start to paint. The poor guy has no room to call his own and has to keep shuffling between Emily's room and the sunroom.
Yesterday, I was able to go to a local shop that carries vintage and antique items and purchase a dresser for Stephen and that will be put out in the sunroom so he has a place to put his clothes. Right now he is living out of bins and a clothes basket. He doesn't mind it, but the clutter stresses me out! Emily's room is too small to fit another dresser in there so that's why the new dresser will be in the other room.
So, I'm cleaning, decluttering, purging, and reorganizing. I'm thrilled that I can do this for the first time in a few years because it means I can actually move! The MCL that was torn last year still flares up and I have to go slower than normal and take care not to twist the knee suddenly. But, it's on the mend and I have mobility. Things I always took for granted, but no more!
So today's plan is to get started on Emily's room this morning. This afternoon I have the luxury of going for the first time ever and getting an hour long massage. A woman from another church payed for me to go and get this and I'm so appreciative of this thoughtful gift. I'm looking forward to it!
Have a great weekend!
