Follow the Leader
As a child I loved the game, Follow the Leader. The goal was to pick someone to be "it" and then we had to do what they did, say what they said and follow where they led. We would spend hours playing this with different ones taking turns being, "it." It was fun because we never quite knew where they were taking us.
As a woman in ministry my desire is to follow where Christ leads. Sometimes that means following Him even where He is leading me doesn't always make sense. Dan and I answered His call into full-time ministry years ago and while we have always tried to be sensitive to His leading and be obedient, there have been times we've wandered a bit off the direction He wanted us to go.
This past week, we spent time with another pastors, ministry leaders, and missionaries from our denomination from all around the world. Dan and I both felt stirring in our souls to follow where He leads. Our speaker in yesterday morning's service hammered home that sense of calling we have as he said, "Jesus is good and worth following. When we follow Him wholeheartedly it will lead to irrational obedience. Irrational obedience leads to fruitful mission."
I'm looking forward to following Christ however He leads in the coming weeks. Are you sensing His call on your life? Are you moving forward in obedience even if it doesn't make sense?
Let's make sure we are following our leader, Christ, wherever He may lead!
John 12:25-26 (NLT) ~
Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
I always strive to be more like him. It is hard sometimes but the more you strive it becomes a habit.
