Multitude Monday

I have many blog readers who have been reading here since I began in 2008. Then there are others who are new to this blog. There are days when I wonder if I should even continue as blogs seem to be falling by the wayside. 

 But the thing is that I love to write and it's a way for me to share how the Lord is working and some encouragement to those who do read. So I'll probably keep going for a while longer.

 One of the things that most of you probably already know is that I'm fairly transparent in my writing. I don't want to present a picture that I have it altogether and life is nothing but a bed of roses because that really isn't the reality that most of us face.

 But even as I'm being transparent I do it for a reason. I want to show how the Lord is working in the middle of my struggles. I want to point people to Jesus. I want others to know the hope that is found in Christ. 

 Being a believer doesn't mean that I will never face pain or heartache or hard times. But I have an inward peace, hope and joy that comes through walking with the Lord.

 So I will continue to be transparent as I write. I will continue to share some of those hard times, but I will always leave each time of sharing with the reminder of what God can do as we walk with Him.

 This week I'm thankful for the blessings #3,791 ~ 3,800.

 3791. I've had a few private and Etsy sales over the past two weeks and I'm thankful for that.

 3792. I received information from our local Farmer's Market and beginning June 13th they will be open for food only (no crafts). I will be participating in that with my jams, jellies and baked goods. It's been frustrating because everything is in lock-down and it's been hard not being able to get to know people in the community. So I'm thankful for this opportunity to start to be able to get to know people here in our new city.

 3793. Dan and I have been doing our best to keep in touch and connected with people in our congregation. I'm thankful we are finding creative ways to do that.

3794. This happened on Saturday. I'm thankful it was gone in a few hours. Crazy!

3795. I had such a busy week last week between online meetings and preparing to speak on Sunday. I'm thankful for a slower week.

 3796. Mother's Day was very relaxing and I'm thankful for sweet online messages from all three of my children, a beautiful card, gifts of potted herbs and a shelf to put them on, flowers from my husband, and a delicious dinner that I didn't have to prepare.

 3797. I am thankful that we got to see my inlaws for a brief outdoor, COLD visit on Saturday. 

 3798. Sweet springtime flowers.

3799. As we do our online service on Sunday morning we have invited different ones of our worship team to come and participate. We are trying to keep it to no more than 6 or 7 of us so we can keep distancing protocols. It's been nice to get to see different ones and at least have a little bit of time to chat together.

 and finally...

 3800. The hope that comes from knowing Christ.

    I think many blogs have slowed down or even stopped in thei last year or so. I always come away from your writing feeling I have been part of your life, so dont stop!

      Thank you, Barbara. A lot of people are doing video blogs now but I've seen myself on video ....no thank you! lol I appreciate the encouragement to keep writing.

Kelli hosts this each week and I always enjoy the opportunity to sit down and make some cards. For those of you who have noticed an abundance of crafty posts on cards, I do have some sewing projects in the works and I'll share some of them soon! A Mindful Year

This year has been strange to say the least, and has not gone exactly the way I expected. A good chunk of the first part of 2025 was spent helping with my in-laws before my mother-in-law passed away the day after Easter. And as we are entering into the last part of 2025 I think the word, mindful, is an accurate description of how the year as gone so far. In fact, I was browsing in a local book store and found this book entited, A Mindful Year. It is a journal of daily writing prompts and I just started it the other day.  I've worked at being intentional in many of the areas of my life and I think "mindful" is a good word to use.  I've been mindful in taking time to pray, read, and hear what God is saying to me.  I've been mindful in getting in many days of exercise each week, especially getting out and walking and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. When the Unexpected Pops Up

On Thursday afternoon, just as Dan and I were getting ready to leave for a meeting, we received a phone call from our son. He was sitting on the side of the road with a blown engine in his car. The problem is he lives 3 1/2 hours away. After back and forth phone calls he called a tow truck and got it towed to a garage. He ended up renting a car and headed here for the holiday. We've been working with him to figure out his next steps because he still owes thousands of dollars on the car which will also take a significant amount to replace the engine. His rent is going up in the new year. His seasonal job ended and he is trying to find something else, but needs a car for that to happen. His car still has not been looked at by the mechanic. It is all more than a little overwhelming. Long story short, we extended an invitation for him to live here temporarily so he can get out from under all of this. It would save him money on expensive rent and utilities.  The timing was right since h...
