Blessings upon Blessings
John 1:16 ~ Because of all that the Son is, we have been given one blessing after another.
Times can be hard and trials happen, but I am thankful this morning that God still showers His blessings down upon us. Some of that comes when we get out of our self-absorbed heads and begin to look around us. When we become aware of how God is working, we can begin to see so many good things.
I remember when Dan and I worked for an inner city ministry. There was an African-American church that we attended. One of the dear older ladies there would start almost every prayer with "Thank you, Lord, for waking me up this morning and allowing me to breathe." The very breath in our lungs is a gift from God.
"Help me to be thankful, Father, for the gifts that you give."
Here are some things I'm thankful for today.
🙏The fruit of my labor ready to be labeled for the market.
🙏 A fun afternoon with a friend. We went for a ride and then had lunch by the lake.
🙏 A large custom order.
🙏 Our governor eased up on the restrictions and churches in Phase 2 can now reopen at 25% capacity. Since we are below our seating capacity, we will be able to reopen for on-site services with certain guidelines in place.
🙏 Emily landed in the emergency room yesterday with an allergic reaction. I'm thankful that it wasn't worse and that she is better.
🙏 Dan was able to go visit his parents the other day and actually have dinner with them. That was the first time since the beginning of March.
I have a very busy week ahead but I'm thankful that I took time to sit down and reflect on these blessings this morning. God is good!
