Grateful

Mondays tend to be a day most of us dread. It's a start to another long week and some are coming off a busy weekend of activity tired.

I'm probably weird but I've always enjoyed Mondays. It's a brand new "do-over" and the anticipation of good things to come. For me it's also the day that I look back and see the many ways I've been blessed the past week. I've been doing this for 11 years though I only started numbering the ways 10 years ago. It's a great way to start the week and kind of sets the tone for the week. It also keeps me alert for those little blessings along the way all week long.

This week I'm thankful for blessings #3,866 - 3,878.

3,866. Emily's study bunny - instead of study buddy. ;-)

3,867. I'm so thankful that all of the money I lost when I fell for a scam has been reimbursed through the generosity of kind people.

3,868. I chose not to go to the market this week because I really didn't want to bake all week long and needed to focus on other things. I'm thankful for that decision as I was able to get a lot accomplished in other areas.

3,869. Finally being able to start decorating my office at the church a bit. It's a tiny room and I'm sharing it with other storage items but my corner is starting to look like me! :-)

3,870. I had an impromptu get together with the ladies from my church. We met on my back patio and it was a fun time of food and conversation.

3,871. The smell of muffins, fresh from the oven.

3,872. After dealing with a pinched nerve in my arm for most of the week I'm thankful the pain is gone.

3,873. For the past 20 years we've had to drive 30 minutes or more one way to get to shops. So I'm thankful to live in an area where I only need to drive 5 minutes to grocery shop and get to other stores.

3,874. Every day when I sit on my back patio I look up to see one of these little guys checking me out. They are a nuisance, but so cute!

3,875. I'm thankful for a quiet place to sit and reflect or read.

3,876. My parents-in-law and my sister-in-law came to church yesterday and then we went out to eat. I'm thankful for family.

3,877. I fell asleep at 9 p.m. last night and I'm thankful for a solid 9 hours of sleep.

and finally...

3,878. I'm thankful for starting a Monday off with a grateful heart.
