A Monday of Blessing

Mondays are my opportunity to look back and reflect on the previous week and find something to be thankful for as I also work on my list of items that I want to see happen in the new week.

Last week was a busy week, but I also saw God's hand in so many of the details. I am thankful this morning.

💓 The temperatures are warmer and it was nice to have opportunities to soak in the sunshine.

💓 Tuesday was one of those crazy days where I had one meeting or event after the other. However, I was so thankful at the end of the day that I could look back with satisfaction that I got it all done.

💓 I lead a Bible study once a month at a local senior housing apartment complex. I was thankful for an opportunity to pray with one of the residents who is dealing with the heavy burden of mental illness that a family member struggles with.

💓 We have a group of women who meet once a week to craft together. But I'm thankful that I can always count on them to help with other tasks we may have at church. We had an envelope stuffing party for our yearly upcoming golf tournament. This raises money for a local foster care agency.

💓 Speaking of children, I am thankful for our growing children's program. It can be challenging at times to find volunteers, but it brings me joy.

💓 I attend a weekly prayer group with local pastors and ministry leaders of different denominations. About 8 of us are women. We meet monthly for breakfast and I'm thankful for this supportive group of women. It's been nice to have friendships with women who understand the unique challenges of leadership.

💓 My grand idea of having a day to myself this past Saturday didn't work out as I went and picked up my father-in-law so he could go through some things in the house. I ended up getting home at 2:30. But I am thankful that I was able to help in this way.

💓 Every Mother's Day I try and come up with some little gift to giver to all the women at church (mothers or not). This year, I gave them a tea bag tote. I'm thankful that I could use my joy of sewing in this way.

💓 I got to see a friend from the Philippines that I haven't seen in many years.

💓 My husband and children planned a surprise picnic for me yesterday. I loved that my daughter made all the food.

💓 The boys gave me beautiful flowers.

💓 Dan and I got to hike while the kids hung out together.

It was a perfect day and a wonderful week. Today's plan is (hopefully) to stay home and get some things done here.
Looking forward to see what this week holds.
