Whatever Happens
There are periods of time when I sense God's leading in my life to do a particular activity or have a certain focus, but then I can so easily give way to discouragement when I don't get feedback from others. Throughout this study, the Lord has been reminding me to stay the course, stand firm, just do the thing that He has called me to do and get my eyes off people.
Yesterday, was a wonderful example of this. I was feeling a bit discouraged as I've been working to put together resources for women to use in their own personal development as well as in their ministry. I've been doing daily posts on my Encouraging Deep Roots Facebook and Instagram pages, but haven't gotten a lot of engagement with it. I was thinking that perhaps I was spinning my wheels and all of this was just for my own use. However, God in His goodness, sent me a couple of reminders that it is helpful for others.
Within minutes of feeling I should just stop doing this, I received a text from someone who told me how much she's been loving them. Another person sent me a message saying that they were helpful to her. I don't want to be reliant on feedback, but was nice to hear that I'm on the right track with all of this, and it felt as if God was sending me a reminder to stick with it.
And this can be true of anything we do in life as we follow God's calling. It may be stepping out in faith for a new ministry or new job. It may be standing firm as you go through a trial or time of extreme suffering. It may be just living out your faith on a daily basis.
God directs your steps and as you follow His leading in your life it is important to stay the course and do the thing that God is calling you to do. Whatever happens, stand firm. Whatever happens, don't give way to discouragement. Whatever happens, follow His leading. Whatever happens, keep your eyes on the Lord.
Really timely reminder!
