Monday Fun Day
I have a Zoom meeting this morning, but then I'm going to putter around the house and do some odd jobs here or there. One of my goals this year is to amp up my movement, but I'm going to have to come up with a different winter plan. I have to be so careful walking and then I'm not getting my heart rate up enough to make a difference. Last week two of the days I walked ended with me pulling a muscle down the back of my leg when I slipped on ice and then the following day taking a spill in the middle of the street. So plan B is coming up.
I ventured back into sour dough, except I'm using some whole grain flours instead of white all-purpose. I'm only on day 3 of getting the starter going, but I have lots of fermentation happening already!
Another goal is to read more books this year. I'm halfway through this one that my husband bought me.
I took down all our church decorations with a friend the other day. Christmas is over and while I love it all it's nice to start January with a fresh look.
I left up my mantle lights and just added some pine cones and dried orange slices to them.
I'm still working on setting some goals for the new year, as well as playing around with some ideas. My cateract surgery is this week so I want to get some things done before that because until both eyes are done I'm not sure how lopsided my sight will be!
Mondays are my day to think about what I'm thankful for in my life. And I have a number of things this morning.
💓 I'm thankful for family - immediate and extended.
💓 I'm thankful for friends who check to see how I'm doing.
💓 I'm thankful for fresh ideas which are always buzzing in my head (just need to realize I can't do them all).
💓 I'm thankful for being able to bless my daughter and son-in-law by cleaning their old apartment. The time was so rushed and I offered to help in this way and was able to get that done yesterday.
💓 I'm thankful that my head is coming out of the fog after being sick.
💓 I'm thankful for laughter. Our church building can be big and scary at night. Like all old buildings it makes noises and sometimes sounds like people are in the building when it may just be the furnace or pipes. My son likes to go there to play guitar and was there last night.
He called me kind of panicked and said that there was someone screaming outside at the top of their lungs. Since there is drug activity in our city he was nervous to go out. And then when he looked out the window our neighbor was gesturing towards the bushes. He thought someone was hiding out there.
It turns out that our neighbor's "gesturing" was actually her flapping her arms towards the trees behind our church where a murder of crows has decided to roost every night. Apparently, she hasn't been able to sleep because of the constant racket and was screaming and trying to frighten them away.
We had a good laugh over that scare.
and finally...
💓 Another new week to find things to be thankful for in my life.

Blessings and Joys be yours- and the gift of better eyesight ! I am glad your son was ok, and it was just murderous crows causing the rumpus
ReplyDeleteHe's usually not scared of anything and this really made him nervous. Dan went down to the church to check it out too. The neighbor apologized for scaring him. lol
