Looking for Inspiration

I've been blogging since 2008 and have written at least 3 times a week during those 18 years. I've had times here or there where I struggled to find inspiration in writing, but for the most part writing has come easy for me.

But this winter has been something else! I think some of my lack of inspiration comes from the fact that it has done nothing but snow since November. A lot of my writing ideas come to me as I walk and hike in nature and take photographs. When I walk I think, pray and meditate and often a thought or prayer or even a picture will turn into writing inspiration.

I'm not opposed to walking in the snow, but because we are down to one car and Dan's schedule is all over the place, my walking has been limited to my neighborhood with the same scenery every day. And it just leaves me with a lack of creative inspiration. Which is why there has been a lack of consistency in my blogging.

I had the terrible thought last night that since my cataract surgery I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to even see through my camera lens properly to take photos. I tried it this morning and the results were not great. I'll have to wait and see how that progresses.

We had more snow last night and another storm on the way. In the meantime, I'm sitting here and waiting for some inspiration!

I realize that this has turned into a very whiny sounding post so I want to leave on an encouraging note. While I haven't had much inspiration with my writing, I continue to find inspiration in the kitchen and the sewing room.

I spent the past 3 days filling a very large Etsy order. I've also been creating some delicious new plant-based meals. The winter farmer's market happens again this Saturday so I'll be busy towards the end of the week making granola for that.

But I do have to say that while I'm sewing and cooking, I'm longing for spring! Just 24 days away. Of course, I live in the northeast so that doesn't necessarily mean we won't have snow. But I can hope, can't I? 😀
