When God is More than Enough
Psalm 73:28 ~
But as for me, God’s presence is my good.
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
so I can tell about all You do.
I fell exhausted into bed last night. I had an over-the-top busy, and yet, wonderful day. It started with breakfast followed by a children's moment in the service, a "hosanna" parade, children's church and then an Easter egg hunt following the service. I didn't really want to do it, but made myself go for a two mile walk yesterday afternoon so I could get some exercise in.
There have been so many wonderful things happening lately, but I was reminded once again as I lay in bed reflecting that the only thing that really matters is coming into God's presence. That is the reason I can enjoy any of the things I experience in my life and it is also the reason I can be okay when difficulties arise.
When all of our activity, wonderful moments and accomplishments are stripped away, can we still say God is enough? I believe that to be true. Though if I am being honest, I don't always act that way. I think most of us have a plus after God. God plus our family. God plus success. God plus blessings.
All the pluses are wonderful, but if we can't say God is sufficient, then we may have things mixed up. I know in my own life I have to evaluate that constantly and make course corrections.
God alone.
That is what I said I was focusing on this year. He is all I need. He is enough. When all my activity and successes are stripped away, He truly is enough. In fact, He is more than enough and He is the reason I give thanks today.
As I reflect back over the past week, I am thankful for the following:
💓My daughter and son-in-law have settled into their new house and are happy. And that makes me happy.
💓 Emily completed her 4,000 hours of supervision and is now a fully licensed mental health counselor.
💓 Signs of spring.
💓 It was accepted into a bundle promotional called Year of Expanding Grace. For a limited time (3/31-4/2) the ebook will be offered for free. I will be sharing the link for that bundle tomorrow. In the meantime, you can find more details about my book and resources that will be available here: https://encouragingdeeproots.com/resources
