Changes

Photobucket

After spending the entire afternoon and evening with our church planting director, Dan & I need to cling to God's promises today. I do not like change. I do not always handle it well.

As of the beginning of July, our church will be meeting in the local Veteran's Hall. It's not the ideal situation but the only one that is available to us at the moment and the only one that our church plant can afford.

There is more visibility but it will require us setting up and tearing down each Sunday. Something we have not had to do for the past 2 years. It will also mean the end of some of our programs, like 3D Girls.

The church is not a building, it's a body. But you know what? A building sure helps at times!

However, I know that the Lord is preparing us for something.

  1. Terri, I am sure the Lord has something waiting for you, which He will reveal in His time.
Our Anglican church in France began with 6 people meeting in a home. Since then we have had 2 moves, all in 8 years, and now we have a permanent building.

  2. Terri,
I know it will be a little tough tearing down every Sunday and losing some of your programs, but I know you have some relief knowing there is an answer now. I'm sure God has a plan that you can't see. Glad you finally have an answer.
    Hugs,
    Michelle

  3. Terri, I know what it's like to have to set-up and take-down in a building. The up-side is that everyone pulls together and helps. Sometimes it can be an opportunity for the menfolk to chat, etc. I'm sure the Lord will reveal His plan soon.

    Love, Tina :)

  4. Terri,

I'm sure that God has something more that He is going to do for you in regards to this building so don't be discouraged even though you might have the added inconvenience of having to set up for church and then tear down afterwards.

As for the 3-D girls, maybe you can meet in your home or take turns with other church members to use their home.

I just know that I am believing God for great things for your church and I know He will provide.

It looked like we were going to have to close our Christian School this coming year but the Lord had been working wonders and we are going forward for another year and God thus far has sent us approx $50,000 to help pay our debts and to help us to be able to start up again in the fall.

Just keep praying (which I know you are) and keep looking to Him for your needs. He will provide!!!

    Love,

    Mom

  5. Thank you ladies for your prayer. The problem isn't so much the setup and take down because we've had to do that before.

We've just been so spoiled the past 5 years with a beautiful, large facility with a huge sanctuary and lots of rooms for children.

Mom, we cannot have the children's programs in a home due to liability. Unfortunately, in this day and age you have to be careful.

  6. We'll keep you in our prayers. I know the change is hard, but praise the Lord that you still have your church and that things are going well! God uses you in such an awesome way through your blog, and I so wish I could just run through a few states and visit your church sometime - it has to be AWESOME! Thanks for your comment on Noelle's pics!
    Love ya!
