Mystic Seaport

Yes, even in the midst of a major move, we took the day off and met Dan's brother, Ray and his family at Mystic Seaport. What a wonderful place! I have never been there and we enjoyed it immensely.

It's basically a replica of a 1800s Whaling Village. They have people dressed in period costume and doing a lot of the jobs that people in that time would do - blacksmith, cooper, ship building, etc. It was so interesting.

It was also HOT! The sun was blazing and it was about 95 degrees but it was definitely a beautiful day to be out on the water. I took tons of pictures and it was hard to figure out which ones to show you.

Ray, Vicky, and their children, Marybeth and Timothy.

Marybeth and Emily hit it off because other than my new niece, Mckenzie, they are the only girl cousins on Dan's side of the family.

The boys loved the ships and they got to go on board and touch everything.

We took the boat shuttle from one end of the village to the other.

Emily loved the boat ride. She and Timothy and Stephen loved counting all the jellyfish they saw in the water.

It was such a fun day. We only get to see Ray & Vicky about once a year for a short time but we always have a good time with them.

I think this was a sign of how busy the day was.

  10. I'm so glad that you got to spend the day with Ray & Vicki and the children. I'm glad that you didn't decide not to go because of all that is on your plate because family is more important that cleaning houses and in the end, everything does seem to get done on time. We just worry that it won't.

It looks like you all had such a wonderful time and I'm glad the weather cooperated with you.

    The pictures are very beautiful!
