Doctors Visits

First of all, did any paint get on the wall? LOL!

This week and next are going to be spent driving back and forth to the doctor's office.

Nathan had an appointment this morning with the nephrologist. He had a problem awhile back and had kidney stones. He had elevated amounts of calcium and salt in his urine and has been on medication for this for about 11 months. Unfortunately, his levels are still high and he is now on a second medicine for it.

He also has an appointment next week with the ear, nose, and throat specialist because he has not been able to breathe through his nose for quite some time now. It's been a few years but we are just getting to the doctor about it now because we have just been dealing with so many different medical issues with him.

He also has an appointment next week with the endocrynologist to check up on his growth. He is now 5'7" and doing quite well. Before we started the growth hormone, his doctor had said he would be lucky if he made it to 5'1". Stephen has an appointment with her as well to discuss the results of his blood work to see if there is an issue there.

None of this would be too much of a hassle if it weren't for the fact that all these doctors are specialists and are about an hour and a half away.

  1. Terri, I do feel for you. I hope the Drs can get it sorted out. His growth is very encouraging though.

  3. Nathan sure is handsome, paint stains and all! Five foot seven is a nice height, but I bet he'll shoot up a few more inches. My husband is only five ten and totally hunky, IMHO.
What a pain, having to drive so far to the doctor. I bet you get into some fun conversations on the drive, though!
    Good luck to you all!

  5. I am so behind with reading & visiting Terri - so sorry. But today I have caught up and as usual I leave your home with a sense of calm & peace. Wonderful recipes, wonderful scriptures and pictures of a life beautifully lived with our Lord - thank you.
And wow! Nathan - what an amazing young man! I have been humbled reading his words and your own. This man will go far - he has amazing character. (But then look at what a fab Mom he has - lol!!)

  6. I know it is hard with all the medical problems that you have to deal with but I know, Nathan is so thrilled with his added inches and such a success too so I encourage you to keep looking up. God is good and maybe Nathan can get this breathing problem corrected as well. We'll be praying.

    Love,
    Mom
