Fun, Fun, Fun
A couple in our church have season passes to an amusement park in CT. They invited us to go with them today because it was a special day at the park where you could bring 4 friends for free. So we had to pay for 1 person. They also have an ongoing special that if you bring a can of food for a local food bank you got $10 off a regular price admission. So 5 of us ended up getting into the park for $23! You can't beat that, especially when normal tickets are $33 apiece.
The other neat thing about this amusement park is that all the soda is free. They have soda machines all throughout the park with cups and you can tank up on soda all day long. My kids loved this part, especially since I don't buy soda at home. :-)
Racing through the park, looking for a ride to go on.
Emily and her friends.
Hanging around while the little girls rode a kiddie ride.
Mike & Becky.
Dan & the boys.
The girls wanted to go on this ride that picks you up about 50 feet in the air and then drops you about 20 feet. It rises back up and does it all over again a few times.
Getting into the chair.
Look at Emily's face. I think she is having second thoughts!
This was after the ride was over. She was shouting, "Let's go again!"
They ended up riding that about 5 times. They had an adult version of this ride that I went on, except you went about 150 feet up and then plummeted 100 feet before it stopped. Let's just say that was the only time I rode all day!!
We brought a picnic lunch to save money and considering I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, $23 was well worth it!

Well, I wouldnt want to do that ride! Brave kids.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a happy day.
Wow, what a great time you all had! Free soda?? You wouldn't get that in the UK! How brave you all are....I couldn't go on any of those rides!
ReplyDeleteWell done on maintaining your weightloss too....what a star!
love, Tina :)
Sounds like you all had a ball! You wouldn't have gotten me on that ride.
ReplyDeleteThough Tim got me to go on a roller coaster once in FL and I held my eyes closed the whole time and prayed for it to be over.
Emily is getting to be a beauty in those pictures. She's also getting to be real tall. It's really great also to see how tall Nathan has gotten. That must help his self-esteem a lot.
You couldn't beat the price, that is for sure.
Oh, Terri! That sounds like so much fun! How great for you all. I don't blame you about the rides. I used to ride everything, but now I'm a big chicken. :-)
