Craft Help

Someone gave me a box of these little wooden rolling pins and apples. I think they are cute and I would love to use them. The problem is that I'm coming up blank.

Most of them have wire threaded through them. Some have the wire only on one side.

Some have the wire threaded through both sides.

I was thinking of using them to make a wreath but they are not hanging properly. The only thing I could think of was to remove the wire and just hot glue them to the wreath.

Does anyone have any other ideas of what to do with these?

  1. the wreath is a good idea ... or maybe a garland for the kitchen?

  2. A kitchen wreath would be lovely - perhaps with a Bible verse added or one of those "bless my kitchen" type poems?
    Or a kitchen window valance.
Or a ribbon bow with the apples attached?
Or fastened to a garland to go over the window or wall cupboards?
Or in a basket lines with gingham?
I'm back to the wreath - lol.

  3. I can't get past the wreath idea! It sounds so pretty. Can you attach them to a grapevine wreath? My no. 2 choice would be a garland. I bet you could get some ideas from websites like "The Country House". I'm going to look at that now.

  6. Terri,
I think the wreath is a good idea.
Or perhaps around a picture frame of Bible verse or your children's pictures. Maybe around your dry erase(chalk) board.
I don't know how small they are. Could they be used for cabinet doorknobs?
How is Emily feeling today? I hope better.

  7. Hi Miriam,

They possibly would work for cabinet knobs.

Emily still has a slight temp and now is all congested. Thank you for asking.

  8. I'm leaning towards a wreath or garland. When I figure it out, I'll post a picture. Thanks ladies!

  9. I agree, Terri, I would use them for a wreath or garland. They are so unusual. You could add little sachets, maybe cross stitched in red with apples on?

Those are really cute ~ I have a garland hanging up over my kitchen window and I love it. I can't wait to see what you do with them! I hope Emily is feeling much better soon!

    Blessings to you today,

  11. The apples would look good for tie backs for your kitchen curtains but I like the wreath idea too.

Hope Emily is doing better today.
