We are on the cusp of Easter, and this year it has suddenly become a difficult one. I have no plans for tomorrow other than going to church in the morning. We will see what the afternoon holds. On Thursday night, my mother-in-law took a turn for the worse and developed a high fever. She has an infection, the sepsis is back, and the pressure wound on her ankle has not healed and is open down to the tendons. Yesterday, she was put on hospice care and it's now a waiting game. Her pain is being managed and she is provided comfort, but no other medical intervention will be happening. I've been down this road before with my own mother and it's hard. And this decision stirred up memories of that terrible time 5 years ago. It's difficult to know how long it will be and it's hard to make decisions of any kind about anything. Wednesday words of encouragement
ReplyDeleteSo many times you have encouraged me . Today I woke with these words from Isaiah in my head and thought of you,
Fear not,for I have redeemed you
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters
I will be with you
and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire you will not be burned..........
Much love,
L.x.
Dear Terri, Lynn thought how nice it would be if we gave back to you some of the words of encouragement.
ReplyDeletePsalm 121 is one that I used to read to my husband when he was in hospital last year, and these words I send to you with love;
The Lord watches over you-
The Lord is your shade at your right hand;
The sun willl not harm you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm-
he will watch over your life.
"I said, "I am falling", but your constant love, O Lord, held me up. Whenever I am anxious and worried, you comfort me and make me glad."
