One Thousand Posts

I happened to look this morning as I was typing up my post and realized that this morning's, "Wednesday Words of Encouragement" was my 1,000th post. I have been blogging for exactly 3 years. It started out as a way to keep in touch with family and let them see the daily happenings of our children. We live so far away from all of our family and only see them once or twice a year.

However, over the years I've gotten to know so many different women through this blog. Some of you I've never met face to face and yet I feel like I know you because we've had almost daily conversations for three years. Others I know through church and work. Some live close to home and others live across the ocean and in other countries. It's been such a wonderful experience for me getting to know you!

The main purpose of my blog is to try and be an encouragement to others. So what better way to continue to offer encouragement than to host a blog give-away. All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post between now and Sunday, January 30th to be entered into a drawing. Though not necessary, it would be helpful to me if you could let me know some way that this blog has encouraged you.

The winner will receive a box of homemade items and other goodies. It will be a surprise because I need to pull it together first! ;-) However, I think you will enjoy it.

So, leave me a comment and I'll put your name in a basket and draw a winner on Sunday. This is open to readers no matter where you live.

Edited to add: You don't have to have a blog to leave a comment here. Also I do have one or two facebook friends who have had problems leaving comments here and you can always leave the comment under the post on facebook and I'll add your name too.

  1. Looks like I am the first one to get my name in the hat. You are an encouragement to me as a fellow pastor's wife who loves Jesus and is transparent in her living. I respect a person who doesn't hide what life is really like. I know I could trust you with anything.
    Congratulations on 1000 posts.

You truly are an encouragement to those who read your blog Terri! There have been times that I have been down and then read your words of encouragement and have been lifted back up!

Although we live across the country from each other, I feel as though we are friends. Thank you for that friendship and may God continue to bless you as you bless others with your blog!!!

    Blessings!

  3. Hi Terri,
    Congrats on your 1,000 post~
    That is quite an accomplishment.
I love your blog and feel like I know you and your family.
You have been an encouragement to me by your Wed. words and just knowing that you are striving to live a life that pleases our savior.
When one person really tries to live a life that shows Jesus' love it encourages all the others of us that are trying to do the same thing.
    Keep up the good work,
God Bless you dear friend, Donna

  11. Hi Terri ~ Wow ~ 1,000 posts! How sweet of you to have a giveaway! I, too, think you are very encouraging! One of the things that inspires me greatly is the sacrificial heart that you and Dan have for Jesus and the ministry He has given you. Even from afar, you two are people who come to mind when I think of pastoral examples.

I enjoy reading about your life and family and appreciate your sharing your recipes too! :)

    Blessings to you!

    Love,
    Sharon

  21. Hi terri, I thouht i had sent you a happy birthday but, not sure it went through. I am not at all savy on these computers but, learning. I too am a teachers aide at one of the local schools. I am a struggling christian in the very intense environment of my peers in this environment and your very wonderful notes of encouragement have been very helpful to me. I often think of you throughout my day now and i am encouraged to keep the faith and hold my tongue (i have been having a great deal of difficulty with this lately). I also love my home and baking and trying to develop a home environment that will encourage our hearts in the Lord together. I would love to win your contest just to have something from you that would strengthen me each day would be woderful. If i dont i still will follow your blog and be thankful for the great encouragement that it gives me as i endeavor to follow the Lord each day to help and encourage the little hearts i have the privilege of working with. Have a wonderful week and God Bless you and your family. P.s. i have a goal to try to utilize some of the things that you do to have peace each day. 22. Dear Terri, Although we "knew" each other in college, we didn't know each other. Thanks to Facebook, and your blog. I feel like that has changed. I like you, and I think that you are a wonderful Christian woman, Godly wife and mother. I think that we could be friends. I have been encouraged and inspired by your blog, because of your honest transparency before others, your genuine faith in God and your devotion and love for your family. Blessings and Peace, Shirley
