It's All a Matter of Perspective

So often in my life as I go through difficulties and hard times, I can become so focused on the problem that I lose sight of the fact that God is in control.  It's easy to lose perspective.  What seems so monumental and scary in my eyes is actually quite small in God's eyes.

We want the problem to go away.  We often rant and rave and wail and whine at God for allowing these things in our lives. Yet, God tells us that He is working all things out for our good.  Romans 8:28 tells us "And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose."

So why do we lose that perspective?  Why do we only see the mountain?  Why do we feel the need to grip so tightly to the desire to control everything?  And why do we want things to be so tame and calm?

If we truly trust God, then we should be able to throw up our hands and allow Him to take over the controls.

As things seem to tilt crazily out of control, we should rest, knowing He will bring us through safely.

But that will only happen through prayer.  By daily turning over our burdens.  By allowing Him to lead us.

As you go through difficult times, remember that your perspective of the problem and God's perspective are quite different.  He sees the big picture.  He sees the end result.  He knows how this will all work out in our lives.

His plans are good.  His will is perfect.  He desires good things for us.

Let's keep that perspective!
