Scale Your Mountain

Haggai 2:3-5 (HCSB) ~

Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Doesn’t it seem like nothing to you?Even so, be strong, Zerubbabel”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “Be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “Work! For I am with you”—the declaration of the Lord of Hosts. “This is the promise I made to you when you came out of Egypt, and My Spirit is present among you; don’t be afraid.”

The task was daunting. The temple was in ruin. Yet, the Lord told Zerubbabel and Joshua to get to work, rebuilding it. He didn't want them standing there, wringing their hands. I'm sure to them the job looked impossible.  He reassured them that He was with them as they moved forward in faith.

Many times we face impossible tasks, overwhelming obstacles, and towering circumstances that look like they will crush us.  However, just as the Lord told these men not to fear, the same is true for us today.

No matter how huge the obstacle or situation, the Lord is with you. He doesn't want you to be paralyzed with fear. Move forward today and face your circumstance with confidence that God is with you.

Throughout the Bible are stories of people who faced huge obstacles, but God helped them overcome those obstacles.  Moses had to figure out a way across the red sea. David battled a giant.  Daniel was thrown into a den of lions.  The disciples faced angry mobs.  But God was with them as they pushed away their fear and accomplished the task at hand.

Scale that mountain today with confidence in the One who is with you.  Step forward in faith, knowing that the Lord will see you through.

  1. You are such a wonderful inspiration! I love reading your blog! It encourages my heart so much! I love your "high view" of our LORD and the way you trust HIM through life's trials.

Trusting (and praying) the LORD will make it crystal clear as you choose what activities needs to stay and what needs to go (as your blog of yesterday mentioned). With love and prayers! (Jude 24)
