Monday Blessings

I'm probably a bit strange as I've always liked Mondays. To me, it feels like a brand new beginning. On Sunday afternoon I always sit down and write out my to-do list for the week and look forward to checking the items off my list.

It's also the day I try and look back over the previous week and find some things I am thankful for, or ways I saw the Lord at work. I'm dragging a bit on this Monday because I started getting sick over the weekend. So my cold-induced haze is making my thinking a little foggy today.

But I have so many things to be thankful for and want to list them here.

đź’“ The biggest thing is the physical improvement in my mother-in-law. She went from being at death's door to being able to sit up and eat. Unfortunately, her cognitive ability has taken a turn for the worse and her Alzheimer's has become more pronounced. She is in a rehabilitation center at the moment and we will find out at the end of the week where she will land (either assisted living where my father-in-law is or a nursing home).

đź’“ Stephen started his new job last week and really likes it. He is working for the same company his brother works for, but is doing direct care for people with disabilities.

đź’“ I am thankful for opportunities to continue to use my gifts in ministry.

đź’“ We had a women's gathering on Friday night at church and I'm thankful for this time of fun and fellowship.

đź’“ I'm very thankful for the new lights in our church fellowship hall and children's area. There is an agency in the county that provides grants for non-profits. I wrote a grant for the new lighting and electrical panels and that is what paid for the lighting. Before this is was so dark and dingy and half the time the lights weren't working properly.

đź’“ Taking the "hobbies" I love and turning them into a small income. I keep plugging away at the YouTube videos on my channel The Frugal Connection and I am so close to being monetized.

đź’“ I'm thankful for a slower pace this week which will allow me to catch up on some things around the house.

đź’“ I am so thankful that even though it's still been cold and snowy that warmer temperatures are on the way - 40's and 50's (Fahrenheit) this next week. The calendar page turned to March and that makes me happy, especially after the winter we've had.

đź’“ I'm thankful that my husband was offered the opportunity to teach two classes in the fall at the local community college. He's been consistently offered classes and that helps us financially and he also loves doing it. So I am thankful that while it blesses our income, it also blesses him.

đź’“ A day to stay home and try and get over whatever it is I have.

and finally...

đź’“ Another new week to work with all my might at whatever God gives me to do.
