Putting my Game Face on

As it often seems in life, multiple things are happening all at the same time. It's going to be a very busy week, but I am looking forward to it.

This morning I'm headed to the local river walk (paved walkway by a river) for the annual Turn the River Green event for St. Patrick's Day. I signed our church up to have a tent there and offer a free craft for children. Myself and another woman from church will be there to greet the approximately 2,500 people who attend. I'm hoping that there will only be about 320 children since that's all the crafts I have! 😂

Tomorrow night is also the start of our annual missions conference and we are hosting two of our International Workers for 4 days. There are events almost every day where they have the opportunity to share their ministry overseas. As always, there are a lot of moving parts to this, including multiple dinners and activities. After this morning's event I need to swing by the church and make sure we have all the supplies we need for the dinners.

Monday I'm taking my father-in-law to see my mother-in-law and spending the morning with them. I'd like to say this will be a pleasant time, but to be honest, it's stressful. But I'm thankful I am able to do it this week. It's easier to visit one or the other, but handling them both is tough.

I'm also heavy in the middle of planning for a yearly district women's event that also has many layers to it.

Dan is equally busy as he is teaching a class at the local college and tutoring two students on top of pastoring. He is performing a wedding next Saturday and will be busy with that as well.

I'm trying to be good about taking time to do some enjoyable activities too. The weather has been so nice the past week so I've been getting back out in my favorite place to walk.

I've been coming up with some new recipes for my website, The Frugal Connection. These are oil-free seeded rye crackers.

I've been able to squeeze in some sewing.

This week is busy, but aren't they all? 😁

My car is already packed for this morning's event, I'm putting my game face on, and headed out to face the world!

It seems appropriate to end with an Irish blessing.

Always Remember to Forget

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

If I were to write my own blessing for myself is may God give me an abundance of energy this week, the ability to stop and savor small moments, and to do it all with a smile!

Have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Hope the crafting goes OK. Those numbers are terrifying. Preparing for 30 children is my default setting these days!

    1. It was fun, but exhausting! We had 250 children come through and while I envisioned being able to interact with the adults too, we really couldn't. It was an unending flow of people the entire 2 hours. I need a nap! lol

  2. Rest and grow strong my friend. Even if you felt you couldn't interact with the adults as you'd hoped, I'm sure positive seeds were sown in what you did 🙏a mum and two children turnip at church this morning. They came to holiday club last year, saw the banner about our April event and thought they would try a Sunday service!!! wonderful 😊
