A Prayer in Spring by Robert Frost
Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.
Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.
And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.
For this is love and nothing else is love,
To which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends he will,
But which it only needs that we fulfill.
I love the works of Robert Frost. That poem couldn't be better for a lovely spring day like today!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment on the little bucket I made!
Terri,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say hi ~ I have been spending some time looking back at some of your older posts today. Wow ~ I love all of your crafts and the fact that you are frugal too! Beautiful scenery you enjoy there. My husband spent his grade school years in Syracuse before his family moved out west but I have never been to NY myself.
Have a lovely weekend,
Sharon
That is beautiful, Terri. you have a real gift for putting photos to words. :-)

Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Terri! I love your pictures, the blossoms are so full on the trees. I think the cold weather does that. Ours are pretty but not as exhuberant as yours.
