I'm Back!

Well, I'm back. The phone was all messed up and they fixed that and I ended up with the internet working as well, even though I wasn't supposed to have access to it until the 31st.

We still have some things in the old house but the majority of it is here. It was a stressful move but at least we are in.

Looky here, my husband actually has an office! In the old place, he studied in the bedroom.

He deserves it because he worked so hard. I know he's tired because he is always energetic but he's been complaining the past day or so that he's exhausted.

We probably have about 3 or 4 car trips still at the old place. Now I just have the task of putting everything away and figuring out where I want everything.

I missed coming here and I'll have to catch up with everyone over the next few days.

    Your kitchen looks so pretty and country looking with the red. I just love it. Glad that the kids are liking it alot! It looks like they have a bigger yard to play in too. Glad everything went quick and smoothly! :) And tell Uncle Dan to take it easy and to get some REST! lol

    Clare, that's one that I do know. The purple flowers are echinacea. I did find out there are a few rose bushes in there as well.

    Glad your back, Terri! I love the kitchen especially and your curtains match it so well. I really like your garden spot as well...a good place to have devotions when it's not too hot. I think the yellow flowers with the brown centers are Black-eyed Susans. At least, they look like Black-eyed Susans. The purple flowers are Echinacea also known as Purple Coneflowers.

    Tell Dan to take a couple of days off and get some rest. Moving is such a hard job.

    I'm glad the children like their new home and are adjusting.

Oh What to Do; I'm Sixty-Two!

Today is my sixty-second birthday and it's hard to believe I've achieved that....um....seasoned age! My first thought this morning was one of not being sure that I like it. However,  as I thought I about it, I decided to take joy in the fact that I've reached an older age. Because age comes with benefits. Benefit #1 - I'm a bit wiser.   When I look back at some of the decisions I made when I was younger, I cringe. With age has come the ability to slow down and think things through before I make major upheavals in my life. I've also discovered that getting worked up about certain things is just an absolute waste of emotional energy. Benefit #2 - I'm enjoying my life.   As I've aged I've learned all kinds of skills and hobbies and can honestly say that I'm never, ever bored. Eating to Live

  Despite the unexpected busyness and interruptions, I have been plugging away at my weight loss as well as writing the plant-based, whole food cookbook. Recipe testing fell by the wayside the past two weeks, but I've still gotten a good chunk of the book done. I also got on the scale this morning for another one pound loss which makes a total of 61 lbs. since I started this journey back in July. It's second nature at this point and I have so much more energy and feel healthy. The only negative is that because I've lost so much weight I'm seeing some sagging, crepe-papery skin happening. Yuck. Some of that is age and I need to figure out some toning exercises. It's definitely a life-style change, but a positive one which I'm so thankful I started on.
