Thanksgiving Linens
I went to Walmart the other day to purchase a tablecloth and napkins. After pricing the napkins and then looking at fabric, I found it would be cheaper to make the napkins.
I bought some beautiful, deep red linen. After cutting it out and trying to hem it, I realized that the napkins were going to be a bit too small.
So I pulled out some fall fabric that I had and made some binding.
Here is the final result. There is more red in the binding than shows up in this picture.
The colors look great with the tablecloth I chose.
I've had a very productive week - the centerpiece is finished, the linens are set and most of my shopping is done. For more Thanksgiving ideas and posts, check out Kelli's blog.

Those look so attractive Terri. I do wish we had Thanksgiving here, but there is no such thing, so I will just have to imagine yours!

ReplyDeleteTerrific idea, Terri and the colors do look great together. You are so organized. Now I suppose that you will have time on your hands until thanksgiving day so that you can sit down, put your feet up and just wait until Thur. to do all your cooking, right? LOL!! Good job!!!

Those came out very festive and I think you did a super job on them!!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, Terri. I read about them in your post this morning and had to come see.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have a new blogger blog(thus the ID change), but it is Leah from CHF. :-)
I have always wanted to make a table cloth and my own napkins. Did you follow a pattern or just pick your own size for the napkins. Keep in mind I can only sew a straight line :) I really would like to sew so I could teach Acelia. I like projects I can complete in an hour or so :)
ReplyDeleteYour napkins are beautiful and will make your table so festive for Thanksgiving.
Love Kerri
Kerri, I cut them too small. If I were doing it again, I would cut 16 1/2" squares and then hem them. Mine ended up being about 10" which is really lunch napkin size.
