Did You Marry an Idiot?
According to my friend, Elaine W. Miller, we all did! Elaine is the author of the new book, We All Married Idiots: Three Things You Will Never Change About Your Marriage And Ten Things You Can. Before you get too excited about that word, here is the book description:
I married an idiot--and so did my spouse. The word, "idiot" is derived from the Greek word meaning "common man." Aren't we all common man? In fact, there is only One who was uncommon man--Jesus Christ. Elaine W. Miller encourages couples to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus and run a marriage marathon like an idiot, but not like a fool. An idiot may stumble or fall, but a fool runs the wrong way.
We All Married Idiots teaches husbands and wives to stop concentrating on the three things you will never change in your marriage and begin focusing on the ten things you can. Then, you will esteem your mate as a gift to treasure, not as an idiot to tolerate.
Elaine has a passion for marriage and she also has a passion for following Jesus. She writes with humor, transparency and a down-to-earth style that makes you want to sit and have a cup of tea with her. I personally know Elaine and her husband, Dan, and they are a warm and welcoming couple. One can tell after spending any amount of time with them that they have a wonderful marriage and are truly in love with each other.
Elaine lets her readers know that it wasn't always that way. God had to do a work in their lives to get them where they are. They have celebrated 41 years of marriage which is a feat in today's world!
We All Married Idiots is available on Amazon.com for $6.03 and is also available on Kindle and Nook.
Because I think this book meets such a need in people's marriages, I am offering a give away of Elaine's book.

I'm an idiot! :D At least that's what I thought when I first read the title and then the excerpt. I would LOVE to receive this and read it!
ReplyDeleteIt's sort of freeing, don't you think, just to accept the fact that none of us are God and we're all going to do something idiotic once in a while.
DeleteBlessings to you from one idiot to another,
