Sunday Celebrating and Monday Goal Setting

We had such a strange day in church yesterday. Generally our attendance is in the low 40s and on a good day we may get to 50.  We are a small church, but yesterday was the smallest crowd we have had since moving here.  We had 19 people and that mostly was because the majority of our church members are sick with the flu. On Friday, I went next door and bleached every possible surface to disinfect, but it's going around the schools too so everyone is catching it.

So instead of our normal service, we did things differently.  We sang, Dan gave a short devotional and then we had a time of corporate prayer. It was different, but a wonderful time of sharing and praying.

One of the things I found to celebrate yesterday was the fact that we can see God's hand moving in a friend's life. He is going through an extremely rough time and his faith is wavering. Dan and I have been praying that he would see God working in his life each day in very tangible ways. It's been wonderful to hear him share how God has met some big needs over the past week. Even yesterday afternoon he texted us to let us know how God met a very specific need he had in an unexpected way.  That was a wonderful reason to celebrate with him!

On to goal setting for the week. I have a crazy March coming up and this week is the one week where I have no meetings or anything happening so I'm going to enjoy it!

My goals for the week of February 19-25, 2018:

Spiritual/Personal Development:

1. Personal Bible reading and prayer at least 5 out of the 7 days (did 4 last week).
2. Required reading for consecration

Finish up Wholly Sancified  by A.B. Simpson

Move on to The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer

Husband/Marriage

1. Out on a date one day this week.

Children/Family

1. Taking Emily back to college
2. Going to visit my inlaws overnight  - This didn't work out

Weight Loss

1. Gym 3 times (only exercised twice last week). I need to work on being consistent with this.
2. Make healthier/sugar free choices

Ministry

1. Annual Report - this has been on my list for a few weeks now and must get done by the end of the week as it's due March 1st.
2. Write 2 notes of encouragement
3. Out for lunch with a friend to encourage her
4. Worship practice on Wednesday
5. Send out newsletter with information

Craft Business

I will be participating in an upcoming local market in March so I want to get some things ready for that.

1. Go fabric shopping
2
. Make at least 5 things for Etsy shop/upcoming market - Made an apron, 2 teapot cozies, set of napkins, and 12 teabag totes

3. Research liability insurance
4. Make 2 batches of soap - Made 3 batches (cedar wood and fir pine; peppermint; and cucumber-melon)
5. Make a batch of jam.

Household

1. Pull together tax items. This has been on my list for a few weeks and I need to stop procrastinating!
2. Get dental insurance sorted out.  They canceled our insurance due to lack of payment even though it was set up for automatic payments online.  Frustrating!  I forget that this happens every year at the same time with this insurance company and they are not easy to get ahold of.
3. Dust living room/dining room (it's been a while).
4. Haircut on Thursday morning.

That's the plan. Looking forward to a productive week!
